Cuenca to Guayaquil, Ecuador
On the morning that we left Cuenca, Ecuador, we started at the city’s bus terminal, Terminal Terrestre Cuenca, and caught a bus back to Guayaquil.
Guayaquil was where the closest major airport was, and from Cuenca the bus ride took about five hours…

Everyone we met in Ecuador told us the same thing: “Cuenca is the most beautiful city in Ecuador.”
I didn’t really believe that Cuenca would be very different from anywhere else in Ecuador, but when we were still many kilometers away, approaching the city on a bus from Guayaquil, the scenery started to get more and more pretty.
