In the morning we woke up at 5:30am in the hotel in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, made ourselves some instant coffee with the provided tea kettle — a tea kettle is a really nice thing to have in a hotel room — and walked over to the airport.
We didn’t factor in that it would be raining, though…
We left Da Nang on the night train to Ho Chi Minh, departing at about 11pm and getting in to HCM at about 4pm the next day.

One of our favorite things about traveling the way we do is connecting with local people. We get to make friends, learn about life in a new place, and even go on some fun trips together…
Local food is one of our favorite parts of traveling — and in most of the counties we’ve visited so far, it’s much less expensive than western food or fast food. So we eat local food for nearly every meal.
